Littlefield, Bennie Wendell, 93, Chapman; in Chapman, February 25, 2009. A graveside service with military honors will be conducted at the Southside Cemetery in Mapleton later in the spring. Arrangements in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.

 

ImageChapman – Bennie W. Littlefield, 93, died February 25, 2009, at his home in Chapman. He was born in Chapman, April 28, 1915, the son of Simeon and Blanche (Murray) Littlefield.
    He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. Following the war,  Bennie came home and worked on the family farm until his retirement. He loved to snowsled and was a life time member of the Chapman Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club.
    He is survived by a nephew and his wife, Robert and Karen Hilt of Chapman; a grandniece and her husband, Melissa and Brent Dyer, their children Elizabeth and Amelia; a grandnephew, Jason Giggie all of Presque Isle; several cousins and a special friend, Merwin Welch of Chapman. Besides his parents, Bennie was predeceased by his sister and her husband, Edna and Rodney Hilt; a brother and his wife, Ralph and Hazel Littlefield; and a sister, Myrtle Littlefield.
    Relatives and friends called at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Friday. A graveside service with military honors will be conducted at the Southside Cemetery in Mapleton later in the spring.
