Susan J. York has donated an original acrylic on canvas for the Southern Aroostook Cultural Arts Project’s March raffle. The painting is entitled, “Read to me”.

“READ TO ME” — Tickets are on sale now for this original acrylic on canvas by Susan J. York of Houlton. The money raised through this raffle will help support the Southern Aroostook Cultrual Arts project. Tickets are available at Visions, Aroostook Milling and Heart to Heart Gift Shop. They are $1 each or six for $5. The winner will be drawn on March 21 during the Pot O’Gold dinner at the Elks Club, sponsored by SACAP.
York has also been selected as the featured artist on the SACAP Web site. She is a Houlton High School graduate and has a bachelor of fine arts degree with a concentration in painting from the University of Bridgeport. York has had solo exhibits in Maine and Tennessee and has been invited to participate in juried shows in New York, Tennessee, California and New Brunswick.
Her artwork hangs in private collections around the world and throughout the United States. York has also had two pieces displayed at the Maine legislative galleries as part of the Arts in the Capitol series featuring artists from Aroostook.
Tickets are $1 each or six for $5, and can be purchased at Visions on Main Street, Aroostook Milling on Hillview Avenue or at the Heart to Heart gift shop on the North Road. The winning ticket will be drawn on March 21 at the Pot O’Gold dinner at the Elk’s Club sponsored by SACAP.
