To the editor:
The Caribou Sesquicentennial Committee would like to thank the Caribou Council for the Arts and the CHS Honor Society for helping to make last weekend’s Celtic celebration such a fantastic kickoff for this year’s 150th birthday events. Also, many thanks to the Maine Winter Sports Center and the Northern Skiers for doing such a great job the next day with the inaugural Downtown Dash for the Cash, which honored Caribou’s winter sports heritage.
And neither event would have been the success they were without all those who came out to take part. Thank you! We hope everyone had a great time!
Remember our next major event is on Sunday, April 5th when we will officially commemorate the exact date of Caribou’s incorporation with a celebration at the Unitarian Universalist Church, starting at 2 p.m. It will be a truly special occasion.
If you’d like to help make the rest of 2009 a great year of celebration, please consider coming to a Sesquicentennial Committee meeting. There is one today at 4 p.m. in the Caribou Room of the Caribou Public Library. We value all involvement. Hope to see you there.
