Image    Clayton Webb was honored recently on the occasion of his 85th birthday and the event was held at the snowmobile club in Island Falls. His wife, Charlene, assisted by many others organized the celebration.
Family members attending were; son, Dale; daughter, Brenda Willette; nephews Bud Webb and Linda of Veazie; Brian and Eddie Webb, Hampden; Mark and Shelley Webb, Winterport; Jarice Gould and sister-in-law and husband Freela and Clayton Lancaster from Dexter.
There were approximately 100 people who came for this celebration and many of them were friends made when attending the jamboree at the clubhouse. Guests came from Winn, Chester, Sherman, Staceyville, Patten, Oakfield, Houlton and Island Falls.
Following the birthday dinner Clayton cut the huge birthday cake and it was served by Dale Russell.
Clayton was born in 1924, son of Brayley and Annie Webb. He graduated from Island Falls High School in 1942, served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and following this, worked for Maine Public Service for 38 years, retiring at age 62.
He and Charlene have been faithful members of the Country Jamboree held every Wednesday, and he is always asked to sing when there, which he always does and is always very much appreciated.
