At the UNIFI Companies recent annual sales conference in San Francisco, Arthur Thompson received its highest honor when he was inducted in the UNIFI Companies Hall of Fame. Thompson recently concluded his 25th year as an agent for Union Central Life Insurance Company (now part of the UNIFI Companies) and his induction into the Hall of Fame is recognition of his untiring efforts on behalf of his clients and the professional nature in which he delivers his services.

According to a release by the UNIFI Companies “The Hall of Fame represents the pinnacle of our honors. It recognizes achievement, not just for one year, but for a career. It honors the kind of character and talent exemplified by a rare few. Most of all, it honors the unwavering dedication vital to building a business and essential to building lasting relationships, the very heart of our business” JoAnne Martin, UNIFI’s president and chief executive officer and Steve Valerius, UNIFI’s senior vice president client services, presented Thompson with a Hall of Fame portrait commemorating this prestigious recognition.
In Thompson’s acceptance speech the UNIFI conference, he stated “I am humbled to be recognized like this. Throughout my life I’ve always felt that it was the little things I did that added up to big accomplishments. I guess that after all the little things I’ve done throughout my career, that this big thing (i.e.: Hall of Fame induction) kind of makes sense”.
During Thompson’s remarks, he thanked his Mom and Dad (Helen and Josiah Thompson), his sister (Ruth Basista), his wife (Fritzie), his children (Barbie, Nancy and Jay), his grandchildren (Lindsey, Kylie, Justin and Brandon), his insurance industry mentor (Lester Rosen for which Art previously received the prestigious Lester Rosen Humanitarian Award), his Pastor (Ellen Cleaves), the network of contacts he has made at Union Central and other professional organizations over the years, his fine staff at Thompson-Hamel, LLC, and of course the thousands of clients he has touched over the years.
Thompson was accompanied to San Francisco by his entire family (sister and husband, wife, children spouses and grandchildren), along with Brian Hamel, managing partner of Thompson-Hamel, LLC. According to Hamel, “This is a tremendous recognition of the fine person and professional Art is and we are so proud to be associated with him”
Although the UNIFI Companies conference in San Francisco marked Thompson’s induction into the Hall of Fame, it was also the location of the 2009 Leaders Conference, for which Thompson, Jay Thompson and Brian Hamel all qualified for. During this conference, each attended a series of breakout and general sessions over a four day period that highlighted important trends in the industry and techniques to provide effective estate planning for its clients.
