Firefighter Captain Darren Woods, 39, a paid-call member of the Caribou Fire and Ambulance Department who has been with the fire service for 17 years, stated he became involved with the department as a result of having, “grown up with it in my family.” Firefighter Darren is the son of Fire Chief Roy, ‘Jack’ Woods. “I love the job and find it very rewarding,” added Woods, who is employed full-time with the Aroostook County Emergency Management Team. “Firefighting is very demanding and firefighters here at the Caribou department are very professional and dedicated.”
Enjoying camping and motorcycle riding when he has some free time, Firefighter Darren and his wife Lisa live in Caribou. He is Dad to son Dustin and stepchildren Amanda, Katie, Siera and Kenny.
