Aroostook Auto Glass (AAG) and F.A. Peabody Company (FAPCO) played a best-of-three series to determine a Little League girls’ town softball champion.
Over the course of the season, all of the games played by these two teams were very exciting and were decided in the last inning, said FAPCO coach Tina Condon.

WINNERS – Winning the Houlton Little League softball title was F.A. Peabody Company. Playing for the team were, from left, front, Makayla McGuire, Casse Butler, Alexis Miller, Victoria Holmes, Elizabeth Ward, Tyra Gentle, and Marissa DeLaite; back, coach Rick Holmes, Piper Flewelling, Katie Condon, Morgan Grant, Aspen Flewelling, Taylor Reed, Olivia Gervais and coach Tina Condon.
Both teams are evenly matched and regular-season games were split, setting up for an exciting playoff.
On June 15 in the first game of the series, AAG tied the game in the sixth, forcing an extra inning, as FAPCO’S base-running mistakes were costly in the bottom of the frame.
With two outs in the seventh, Victoria Holmes, who re-entered, singled and then stole second and third. With a 3-1 count on Tyra Gentle, Holmes sprinted home on a passed ball for the game-winner, 25-24. Piper Flewelling, who had re-entered for Holmes on the mound, pitched solidly, said Condon. Throwing for AAG were Mackenzie Hunt, Lexi Emerson and Kristen Graham.
“Both teams were solid offensively,” Condon added. “AAG played great infield defense.”
In the second contest on June 16, FAPCO defeated AAG, 12-5, for their second straight win, with Katie Condon pitching a complete game. She helped her own cause with a 2-for-4 hitting performance, with two of her at-bats walks.
For AAG, Graham pitched well, but met an explosive FAPCO offense, as they scored six runs in the sixth, as they went through the batting order. AAG made a valiant effort, as they sent seven batters to the plate, but only were able to knock in two of those runners.
