The Southern Aroostook girls are 6-0 on the season, as they picked up a 1-0 victory over visiting Easton on Monday.
The Lady Warriors are among the undefeated in the Class D soccer and could potential make a strong playoff run, as they defend their two-time Class D state title.

In Monday’s game, Janel Rockwell took a Jillian Diaferio pass and buried it for a goal, with 23:56 left in the first half. That would be the only goal of the game, as goalie Mallory Lawlor rejected all seven shots she faced.
For Easton, Marissa Parlin made six saves on seven shots for the 6-5 Bears.
Last Wednesday, Desirae Dubois scored the game-winning goal unassisted with 8:46 remaining in the game to break a 2-2 tie, as the Lady Warriors edged host Woodland, 3-2.
Jasmine Rockwell and Katelyn Goodall each scored for SACS, while goalie Lawlor made 10 saves on 12 shots.
The Houlton Lady Shires blanked visiting Hodgdon, 7-0 last Thursday night under the lights at Houlton High School’s soccer field.
Chelsi Murray paced the Lady Shires’ offense with two goals, while Amanda Fogarty added a goal and two assists. Abby Kinens scored a tally and added an assist, while Taylor Bailey, Rebekah Holmes and Marina Cameron all scored.
Cameron combined with Ashley Drew in goal to stop four of five shots, while Hodgdon’s netkeeper Kim Levesque blocked 15 of 24 shots faced.
The Lady Shires are 2-2 with Hodgdon dropping to 1-6.
Mikayla Hamilton scored in each half to keep the Dragons in the game. Goalie Kelsey Worden had 10 saves on 13 shots for 1-1 Woodland.
The East Grand girls suffered an 8-5 loss to host Woodland last Tuesday.
Shaunna Beaudoin tallied four goals for the Lady Vikings, while Lauren Morse added another and an assist. Goalie Chelsea Winiarski turned back 21 of 29 shots faced.
For Woodland, Molly White had five goals and an assist, while Hamilton had three more. Goalie Worden stopped eight of 13 shots.
The Lady Vikings (0-2) were defeated last Saturday by visiting Easton, 6-1.
Beaudoin scored for East Grand, while goalie Kim Armstrong turned back 22-of-34 shots faced.
The Bears goalie Haley Ambrose stopped 5-of-6 shots.
At Hodgdon, the Lady Hawks took a 3-1 win over Wisdom behind Britta Oliver’s goal and two assists on Macy Palmer and Cierra Willett’s goals. Hodgdon keeper Kim Levesque blocked 11 of 14 shots faced, while Wisdom’s Hayley Cyr made nine saves against 11 shots.
In boys’ action, the Southern Aroostook Warriors are poised for a playoff run with an undefeated record of 6-0.
On Monday, the Warriors blanked visiting Easton, 5-0 behind two goals scored by Patrick Goodall, along with tallies from Cody Robinson, Jake Lassonde and Dylan Porter. SACS’ goalie Jesse Boulier turned back 6-of-9 shots, as he picked up his third shutout.
For Easton, goalie Cody Tompkins had 12 saves on 17 shots faced for the 3-8 Bears.
The Warriors scored two goals in each half of play to overtake Wisdom, 4-1, last Wednesday night at Presque Isle.
Lassonde and Taylor Locke each scored first-half goals, while Dave Dubois and Goodall added second-half tallies for the 4-0 Warriors. Goalie Boulier had two saves against seven shots.
For Wisdom, 6-3, Curtis Picard scored off a Kody Chamberland pass, and goalie Nathan Oakes set back 19 of 25 shots faced.
The visiting Katahdin Cougars earned a 1-1 tie after double overtime with Schenck last Wednesday.
Kolby Gallagher scored off an assist from Lucas Anderson with 27:10 left in the game to give Katahdin a 1-0 lead. But, Brandon Theriault answered for Schenk just about a minute later to deadlock the score.
Katahdin keeper Kohle Birmingham stopped 18 of 25 shots, while Schenck’s Zach McLaughlin made 11 saves on 16 shots faced.
The Cougars are 1-1-1, while the Wolverines take an season-opening tie.
Last Tuesday, the Cougars topped Easton, 6-4, on two goals apiece for Gallagher (who also had an assist) and Mickey Savage, along with individual tallies from Megan Merry and Forest Heath. Goalie Jesse McNally rejected 12 of 26 shots.
The East Grand Vikings were shutout 3-0 by host Woodland last Tuesday.
Jordan Denley scored twice for the Dragons, along with Damon Lincoln. Goalies Ryan Lincoln and Noah Lewey combined for four saves on five shots.
For East Grand, 0-1, Alex Brittain turned aside eight of 12 shots faced.
Last Saturday, the Vikings were shut out by visiting Easton, 7-0 behind Clark’s two goals and two assists.
For East Grand, 0-2, Brittain blocked 16-of-25 shots.
