The Ashland Hornets picked up a point-worthy victory last Wednesday, defeating a Southern Aroostook team which had garnered 32 consecutive victories heading into the match.

Ashland is now 5-2 heading into its rematch against SA at 5:30 p.m. this afternoon at the Johnson Athletic Complex in Presque Isle.
With most Aroostook County squads now on harvest break, the focus for many shifts to maintaining positive momentum through the practice for the next few weeks. The last countable day for regular season soccer games is Oct. 19.
In the Heal Point standings for Eastern Class B, Presque Isle (3-2-1, 17.5383) is currently third out of 18 teams.

The following is a recap of games played through Monday.

Meredith Stewart had two saves on three shots for the Wildcats, while Mikayla Treadwell had 15 saves on 20 shots for the Hawks.
“It was one of those frustrating games,” Presque Isle coach Ralph Michaud said. “We hit the cross bar. I give Hermon credit. They played a very physical game and it will be a tough rematch next week.”
