Washburn – Gary W. Skidgel, 58, died October 1, 2010, at Presque Isle. He was born in Woodland November 7, 1951, the son of the late Ransford and Myrtle Skidgel Sr. Mr. Skidgel was employed by several area potato growers over the years and he married Delores Bouchard May 29, 1986.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Delores of Washburn are his three children, Dell Brissette, Joe Brissette and April Brissette all of Washburn; two brothers, Ransford Skidgel Jr. and Dwayne Skidgel both of Connecticut; three sisters, Mary Skidgel of Connecticut, Flora Ireland of Easton, and Linda Holstein of West Virginia; eight grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Mr. Skidgel was predeceased by two sisters, Eldora St.Pierre and Avis Long.
Friends called at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, where evening funeral services were held at 8 p.m. with Rev. Kenneth Phelps, officiating. Interment will be in the Woodland Cemetery. www.mocklerfuneralhome.com
