Jesse Sandstrom was one of the major factors allowing Caribou to place fourth out of 55 teams in Saturday’s meet in Belfast. Sandstrom came in 69th out of 735 runners with a time of 18:00.96.
The standings reveal that several central Aroostook County boys teams are making strong bids for the playoffs.
In Eastern Maine Class B, the most recent Heal Point standings show Caribou in ninth with a 3-5-3 record. They have compiled 26.0332 tournament index points.
In EM Class D, Washburn (seventh, 26.1947) and Fort Fairfield (10th, 10.1743) are teams in strong contention.
