PRESQUE ISLE — As a token of appreciation for their selfless acts of courage, Bradley’s Car Wash is once again taking part in Grace for Vets, offering free washes to all veterans on Veteran’s Day.

“This marks the second year participating in an event that’s offered at hundreds of car washes in over 40 states,” said Mike Cyr, owner of Bradley’s.

Cyr said it’s important to remember those who’ve served their country.

“We owe everything to the veterans who’ve served and those actively serving. Without them, we would not have the freedoms we enjoy every day,” said Cyr.

Following last year’s event, Bradley’s was featured in the February issue of a national publication, “The Kleen-Scene.”

“I was interviewed for the magazine. They wanted to know how many veterans were served. We had vets who came from 60 miles away or more to take part. We were busy from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.,” said Cyr.

In all, Cyr said about 365 veterans’ vehicles were washed for free and no proof of military service was requested. Nationally, 60,662 washes were performed through 248 participating companies at 500+ locations in 44 states.

“Free washes will take place at Bradley’s, 46 North Street, Presque Isle, throughout the day Nov. 11, as a way for Bradley’s crew to say thank you for protecting our freedom,” said Cyr.

Grace for Vets was founded by Mike Mountz, president of Cloister Wash & Lube, of Pennsylvania, and launched by the company in 2004 as a way to thank U.S. military veterans and service personnel. Through the program, participating car washes offer a free car wash to vets and active personnel on Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11. For more information, visit www.graceforvets.org.
