TAMC welcomes first baby of 2011

WELCOMED WITH A KISS — Proud father Jeff Curtis, of Presque Isle, kisses his daughter, Elaina, on the forehead. Elaina was born at The Aroostook Medical Center on Wednesday, Jan. 5, making her the first baby born at the hospital for the new year.

PRESQUE ISLE — Nearly a week into the new year, officals with The Aroostook Medical Center have announced the arrival of the first baby born at the facility for 2011, with the arrival of Elaina Laurie Curtis.

The daughter of Jeffrey and Jolie Curtis, of Presque Isle, Elaina was welcomed to the family on Wednesday, Jan. 5, at 3:33 p.m., weighing in at 6 pounds, 5 ounces. Nancy Escobar, CNM, MSN, assisted with the delivery.

As in past years, the little one and her parents received a gift basket from TAMC staff filled with diapers, blankets, clothing, toys, vehicle safety items and more.
