The 38th annual Southern Aroostook Junior High Invitational Basketball Tournament will be held Monday through Wednesday, Feb. 14-16 at Southern Aroostook Community School in Dyer Brook.
Teams playing in the tournament will be Houlton, Southern Aroostook, Greater Houlton Christian Academy, Katahdin and Hodgdon.
In the girls division, Houlton is first with a record of 10-4, followed by Southern Aroostook, 8-2; GHCA, 6-6; Katahdin, 2-10 and Hodgdon, 1-13.
In the boys bracket, Houlton is first with a 15-0 record, followed by Hodgdon, 12-2; Southern Aroostook, 8-4; Katahdin, 2-10 and GHCA, 0-12.
The schedule is as follows:
Monday, Feb. 14: Southern Aroostook vs. Hodgdon (girls) at 3:30 p.m. and then GHCA vs. Katahdin (girls) 4:45 p.m. and finishing the night will be Southern Aroostook vs. Katahdin (boys) at 6 p.m.
Tuesday, Feb. 15: Hodgdon vs. GHCA (boys), 3:30 p.m.; Houlton boys will take on the winner of Southern Aroostook/Katahdin at 4:45 p.m. and the Houlton girls will face the winner of GHCA/Katahdin at 6 p.m.
On Wednesday, Feb. 16, the girls title game will be played at 3 p.m., followed by the boys championship game at 4:15 p.m. Starting times could be earlier pending the high school basketball playoff schedule.
There will be awards presented on Wednesday evening following the boys championship game. All teams should have representatives for their teams available as the Most Valuable Player (MVP), along with all-star selections will be determined. There will also be runner-up and championship trophies presented to finalist teams.
