    OAKFIELD – Larry E. Burpee, 68, went home to be with the Lord March 13, 2011 after a long illness. He was born Sept. 6, 1942, in Merrill, son of Stanley and Olive (White) Burpee.
    Larry was a member of Bethel Pentecostal Church and enjoyed working in the woods. He was a very hard worker and worked for Hannington Brothers, Macwahoc; and Southern Aroostook Community Schools; Green Valley; and was self-employed for many years.
    He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marilyn (Adams); four children, Larry G. Burpee, Barry Burpee, Julie Starbird and her husband, Bryon, and Jeffrey Burpee; one grandson, Ryan Starbird, all of Oakfield; a sister, Janice Carver and her husband, Donnis, of Holden; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
    Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Bethel Pentecostal Church, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Sterling Lawrence and the Rev. Ian Tupper officiating.
