David Apgar, principal at East Grand School in Danforth, has announced the honor parts for the Class of 2011. Kimberly Armstrong earned the rank of valedictorian, while Dustin Morse has been named salutatorian.
Armstrong is the daughter of Paul and Karen Armstrong of Danforth. She is a member of student council as well as class secretary. Armstrong played soccer, softball and basketball during her years at East Grand. She was involved in the yearbook, Maine Youth Voices Healthy Ways and Community Clean Up Day; and was recognized by the Houlton Rotary Club for being an outstanding student at East Grand School. She plans to attend Husson University in the fall to pursue a degree in accounting.
Morse is the son of Philip Morse, Jr. and Michelle O’Keefe of Danforth. He is a member the National Honor Society and student council. He played basketball and soccer for four years and baseball for three years.
He has participated in Maine Youth Voices Healthy Ways and Community Clean Up Day. Morse was also recognized by the Blaine House for Youth Excellence in Art and at the Houlton Rotary Club for being an outstanding student at East Grand School. Morse plans to attend University of Maine Orono to pursue a degree in biology.
