MICHAUD, Fred J., 88, of Caribou, at St. Petersburg, Florida, on May 12, 2011. A memorial mass will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2011 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Caribou. Following the interment, there will be a gathering at the Holy Rosary parish hall. Arrangements are in the care of Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, Caribou.


American Flag ColorFred J. Michaud, 88, of Caribou, died Thursday, May 12, 2011, at his winter residence in St. Petersburg, Florida. He was born in Canada and made his home in Caribou.

He was employed as the Plant Superintendent for the Caribou School Department for thirty-nine years and served in the U.S. Army in Europe during WWII. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; two daughters, Patti (James) Gilley of Berwick, ME; Rebecca (Dana) Haskell of Caribou, ME; one son, Scott (Dorothy) Michaud of Uxbridge, MA; two sisters, Evelyn (Sandy) St. Peter, Deda Sams; one brother, Maynard Michaud – all of Caribou; four grandchildren, Rachael (David) Richmond, Rebekah Williams, Seth (Sarah) Haskell, Timothy (Jenna) Williams; two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Eric Richmond; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Doris Michaud, and three brothers, Herbert, Lewis and Alphie Michaud.

A memorial mass will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2011, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Caribou. Following the interment, there will be a gathering at the Holy Rosary parish hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Caribou High School Scholarship Fund, or to the Caribou Public Library.
