Here’s a summary of some recent games:

Shop ‘n Save 17, Woodland Tigers 11

Shop ‘n Save used timely hitting and held on for a 17-11 victory over the Woodland Tigers.

For Shop ‘n Save, Trey Taylor hit an inside-the-park grand slam home run and added a 2-rbi single to pace their attack. Ben Ezzy had a 2-rbi double and rbi single, reaching base 4 times. Parker Deprey, had a double, and Kerrigan Manter, Liam McMillon and Evan Burgay added singles. On the mound, Alex Ezzy started and pitched 3 2/3 innings to get the win. Trey Taylor and Caleb Brown finished up the game.

For Woodland, Garrison Doody had 3 hits, including a double and 2 rbi, while Carson Doody had 2 hits and 3 rbi, and Carter Moir had 2 singles. Liza Durette added an rbi single, and Mollie Cummings had a single. Splitting the duties on the mound for Woodland were Carson Doody, Brandon Manter, Garrison Doody, and Adriana Bither.

S.W. Collins 16,  Shop ‘n Save  2

S.W. Collins used a solid fourth inning and some shutdown pitching to secure the top spot in the National League with a 16-2 victory over the good fielding Shop n’ Save team.  Collins took a three game lead with just two games left to play and remain undefeated sitting at 12-0.

On the mound for Collins was Zach Wright – who went four solid innings.  Wright struck out seven batters allowing four hits and two runs to collect the win.  Closing out the game for Collins was Gabe Massey. Massey went two scoreless innings – striking out four and walking one.

Tristan Mancos was one of many solid fielders on the Shop ‘n Save squad.  Mancos robbed a hard-hit flyball to right field to assist his hardworking pitchers.  Making some other great plays were centerfielder Parker Deprey and second baseman Kerrigan Manter – who caught a line-drive hit late in the 6th.  Leading Shop ‘n Save at the plate was Taylor who went 2 for 3 with a run scored.  Mancos scored the other lone run.

A big day at the plate for Cory Jandreau sparked a great 4th inning run from the Collins team.  Jandreau went 2 for 3 with an RBI and two runs scored. Zach Wright scored three runs and drove in three more while Donovan Savage went 2 for 4 with three runs and two RBIs including an inside-the-park homerun.
