Big Rock: A fun experience for the entire family
Four years ago the Guest family of Florenceville, N.B. decided to look at one recreational activity for all family members instead of traveling in all different directions and participating in a variety of sports.
Charlie, and his children, Haley, Riley, Carlie and Brody, decided skiing would provide their wintertime fun and Big Rock would be the place to go.
A family pass was purchased and a love of skiing for all the kids and father was born. The mom, Annette, doesn’t ski but fully supports the family.
“We used to ski once or twice a year,” claimed Charlie. “Now we were awarded a plaque for most days skied. Thirty to 40 times a year.”
Charlie says the two oldest children have even completed the necessary steps to be on the ski patrol.
“I would recommend this to all families,” he said. “Now all the kids are headed in one direction and the car is only pointed to Mars Hill.”
Mark Shea, marketing director for Big Rock, says stories like that of the Guest family say a lot for the Big Rock experience.
“Customer service is very important to Big Rock, because customer retention is very important,” said Shea. “We are a ‘luxury’ recreational outlet for most folks – customers who choose to spend their free time with us deserve an easy and efficient ticketing and equipment rental process, short lines at the lifts, well-groomed trails, fun and friendly ski and snowboard lessons and home-cooked food.”
Shea says Big Rock, which is owned by the Maine Winter Sports Center, provides low-cost access to healthy, active, family-friendly recreation.
