PRESQUE ISLE — Later this year, City Council will begin the task of reviewing and finalizing the city’s 2012 budget.

To get a better idea of what citizens expect of that budget, City Manager Jim Bennett has scheduled two one-on-one meetings with residents of Presque Isle to offer the opportunity for input on the 2012 municipal budget prior to the finalization process.

The meetings will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 6, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at City Hall; and on Saturday, Sept. 10, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at Tim Hortons on Main Street in Presque Isle.

“The city’s budget is the blueprint for financial and policy decisions implemented during each fiscal year. It lays the groundwork for what we hope will be our community’s accomplishments in the future,” said Bennett. “As such, I value resident suggestions, comments and feedback prior to presentation and review by the Council.”

The restaurant was selected as one of the locations for the city manager to meet with the public because of its friendly atmosphere.

“Tim Hortons restaurant is a great place to meet with friends. We thank them for hosting this event at their location,” said Bennett.
