Items stolen from cars

PRESQUE ISLE — The Presque Isle Police Department is investigating over a half dozen burglaries from motor vehicles that occurred over the weekend throughout the Star City.
According to the police log, the calls came from owners whose cars were parked at residence and/or businesses between Friday, March 23, and Sunday, March 25. Vehicles were burglarized at residential locations including: Phair, High and Barton streets; and Manchester Court. Another individual reported having items stolen from a car while she and her boyfriend attended a movie at the Braden Theater.
Electronic equipment and personal belongings were among the items taken. In each case, owners told police the vehicles were not locked.
Officers Chris Hayes, Kevin Schumacher and Lynn Hartley, as well as Cpl. Wayne Selfridge were assigned to investigate.
Police are reminding motorists to lock vehicles, especially when parked overnight, and to secure items of value.
