PRESQUE ISLE — The Hayward-Frazier Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2599 will be establishing the first VFW Men’s Auxiliary in Aroostook County.
On Monday, May 14 at 6 p.m., there will be an informational meeting at the Post home in Presque Isle for all interested individuals that would like to join the new organization.
“The mission of the Men’s Auxiliary is to aid and assist the Post with its mission, as well as to establish a network within the community in direct support of veterans and their families,” said Post Commander Randolph Michaud. “Promoting patriotism and helping veterans in need are just two of the many ways that the Auxiliary serves America’s communities and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.”
The VFW Men’s Auxiliary is open to husbands, widowers, fathers and sons of eligible VFW Post members (active duty members of the military serving in a war zone or deceased veteran who served in the U.S. military, served overseas, received Combat Action Medal, Navy Expeditionary Medal, etc.; received an honorable discharge, and is 16 years of age or older).
Men eligible for membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States shall not be eligible for membership in the Men’s Auxiliary.
