Local emergency medical service providers and first responders were recently presented with stork pins to recognize them for going above and beyond while helping to deliver twins in a Fort Fairfield home on April 19.

Crown Ambulance emergency medical technicians along with first responders from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Fort Fairfield Fire Department and Border Patrol arrived at a home just as the mother was delivering the first baby. The crew acted heroically in caring for the child and guiding the mother through the birth of the second baby, which was born breach.

Stork pins are traditionally given to emergency medical technicians and first responders who assist with a delivery in the field. The pins were presented by Perry Jackson, manager of TAMC’s Crown Ambulance service.
