At left, three central Aroostook County businessmen, from left, Art Thompson, Al Giberson and Rollan Walker, have nearly 150 years of combined experience in the insurance and financial planning sector. Thompson, a life-long resident of Limestone, has worked in the field of insurance for 51 years. He began his career with Union Mutual Life Insurance Company, later moving on to represent The Union Central Life Insurance Company and UNIFI Companies. During this timeframe he earned his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations. He has also been named to UNIFI Company’s Hall of Fame and the Lester Rosen Humanitarian Award. Art has been a Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) member for 37 years and National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) Quality Award winner for 37 years. Giberson, of Presque Isle, started his insurance career with MetLife in 1965. This year he will have been in business for 47 years. Al has received many company awards including qualifying for the MetLife Leaders Conference several times. He has been a member of the NAIFA since 1965 and served as the Aroostook County Chapter president in 1972-73 and state president in 1981-82. He received his Life Underwriters Training Council (LUTC) designation in 1989. Other industry awards include the National Sales Achievement award, National Quality Award and the Arthur and Helen Charles Award. Walker, also of Presque Isle, retired from the United States Air Force in 1971 and joined New York Life Insurance and has completed 41 successful years serving in Aroostook. He has earned his CLU designation and has won many sales awards with New York Life.
