To the editor:
We all can see that the warm weather and rain of last week has had a devastating impact on winter outdoor activities in Aroostook County.
In talking with experts around the area, all snowmobiling clubs in Aroostook have stopped their operations until we get sufficient snow.
I urge you all to inform your friends and family who may partake in ice fishing, snowmobiling or other outdoor activity to take great caution when venturing out on or near the lakes, rivers and streams. The ice is very deceiving with pockets of open water hidden under ice layers.
