Town will miss Manager McClung
To the editor:
After reading of the firing of Mars Hill town manager, Dan McClung, I felt compelled to stand on his behalf.
The decision sheds a somewhat disillusioning light upon the existing town council. Speaking as a Mars Hill resident for over 20 years, I found Dan to be a breath of fresh air, bringing new ideas and a fresh perspective.
He came to us with exceptional credentials and an affable personality. I, for one, am sorry to see him go and we as a town may be more sorry in the days to come. I believe Mars Hill under Dan’s leadership had the potential of becoming a prosperous, vibrant community.
I wish Dan well and send him my regards and want him to know that the Mars Hill town council did not represent the interest of this tax-paying citizen.
