PRESQUE ISLE — AJ Cloukey has been named to a second term for Division One of the Kiwanis Clubs of New England and Bermuda. Cloukey will oversee and consult three clubs that make up Division One, including Presque Isle, Caribou and Easton.
“I’m humbled and honored to continue representing a civic organization that means so much in this community — one that personifies service above self and commitment to community, particularly the interests that we support are children and youth,” said Cloukey.
Before being named Lt. Governor in 2012, AJ Cloukey served two terms as president of the Presque Isle Kiwanis Club. Under his term, he created such fundraisers as the Moose Poop-a-looza and increased activities that were as much social for Kiwanis members as service-driven.
As with all of the Kiwanis clubs’ projects, money raised via local fundraisers (by all three local clubs) go back into the community as part of the clubs’ many service programs, including Kiwanis Kids’ Day, RIF (Reading Is Fundamental), the Christmas Basket Project in Presque Isle, the Holiday Dinner in Caribou, local food pantry in Easton, and many more.
Cloukey resides in Presque Isle with his wife, Shawn Cunningham-Cloukey. The couple is expecting their first child later this year.
