    PT-Robert-BurtonAmerican Flag ColorRobert Gerald Burton, 89, died May 10, 2014 at a local healthcare facility. He was born Feb. 7, 1925, at Houlton, the son of Robert B. and Ethyl (Ross) Burton.
    Bob served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Houlton Lodge of Elks, the American Legion and the Houlton Masonic Lodge. Bob drove many years for Clement Brothers and then for Tommy Good Farms for several years. His dream job was when he was superintendent and head greens keeper for the Houlton Community Golf Course.
    Bob is survived by his son, Bruce Burton of Thomaston, CT; two daughters, Debra Campbell of Littleton and Bonnie Upton of Houlton; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grand-children; three sisters, Evelyn Johnston of Oakfield, Betty Ivey of Houlton and Shirley Spellman of NC; several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife, Joanne Burton.
    Friends called Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Eric Meyerson officiating. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemtery.
