The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) recently announced the appointment of James Pineau as senior area manager of the SBA’s Bangor office. Pineau will be responsible for managing SBA’s programs and initiatives throughout Maine’s central and northern counties.
“Both the SBA and the small businesses of Maine will benefit greatly from Jim’s economic development experience,” said Marilyn Geroux, district director for the SBA Maine District Office. “This is an exciting time at the SBA, particularly given the implementation of several new SBA initiatives, including waiving guaranty fees for SBA  loans up to $150,000,”  added Geroux, during Pineau’s swearing in ceremony on Aug. 25.
“I am honored to be selected for this position and look forward to working with our resource partners, lenders and small businesses helping to create jobs for my fellow Mainers,” said Pineau.
Pineau most recently served as the economic development liaison for Congresswoman Chellie Pingree, a position he held since 2009. In addition, Pineau is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
Pineau resides in Bangor, with his wife Paige Holmes and two sons, Owen and Mason.
