The Limestone Board of Selectpeople met on Sept. 3 for their regular meeting, where they reported their progress on the hiring of a new town manager to replace Donna Bernier, who is scheduled to retire toward the end of the month.
The board has narrowed down the choices to a smaller number and recently concluded the interview portion of the hiring process. They have not released the names of the finalists.
“The board of selectpeople is currently deliberating on the matter and conducting background and reference checks on the potential candidates,” said Bernier.
According to Bernier, the board hopes to have this final stage of the hiring process completed by Friday, Sept. 12, which is the tentative date on which they hope to be ready to announce the new hire.
The next Limestone Board of Selectpeople’s regular meeting will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the Limestone town office.
