BLAINE, Maine — State Police have charged a local man with possession of child pornography, following a recent investigation.
“State Police have arrested a man from the Aroostook County town of Blaine and charged him with possessing child pornography. Robert D. Kinney Jr., 40, of 30 Robinson Rd. was arrested at his home on Friday and charged with possession of sexually explicit material of someone under the age of 12,” said Steve McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.

Kinney was transported to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton, where he remained at presstime.
Police found evidence on equipment found at the home.
“A search of Kinney’s electronic devices at his home showed graphic photos of infants being sexually molested. None of the images are believed to be from Maine. Kinney lives at the home with his wife and two children,” said McCausland.
The arrests were made by personnel from the Maine State Police’s Computer Crimes Unit.
“Kinney’s computers were seized and will be analyzed,” McCausland said, adding, “State Police began investigating Kinney after receiving a tip.”
