Recommending Michael Willette
To the editor:
As the days race toward Election Day, I would like to recommend candidate Michael Willette to you for election as Senator for the southern Aroostook/northern Penobscot district.
Michael served two terms in the House of Representatives — the first term as a Democrat and the second as a Republican. In his first term he learned a lesson, as had an earlier Representative, Edgar Wheeler: One cannot serve the people of his district as a Democrat. He could not vote as pressured by his caucus leadership when it was bad for the people who elected him. He showed that he was a Representative and not a politician.
Please support Michael on Election Day. He will support his citizens in his district and the state of Maine. He is the best candidate in the race, as he does not serve two masters. We have three separate branches of government, and attorneys are considered as officers of the court. As such, they have a difficult job keeping those two branches separated.
Please vote for Michael on Nov. 4.
