Pauline C. Champagne, 97, of Salisbury, MA, formerly of South Lawrence, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014 at the Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, MA. She was the last of the 16 Corriveau siblings laid to rest.
Pauline was born, raised and educated in Caribou. She was the daughter of Octave and Jane (Jennie Michaud) Corriveau. She worked for many years at F.C. Myer Packaging Corp. in Lawrence and Converse Rubber in Wilmington, MA prior to her retirement. Pauline was deeply involved in her community. She was President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus, Local 67, a member of the Lawrence Ladies Elks #65 and a member of the former Sacred Heart Church for 69 years.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Henry C. Champagne who passed away in 2009. She leaves her four children, Jeanne Scott and her companion, Bernard Bush of Derry, NH; Raymond Champagne and his wife, Donna of Salisbury, MA; Gloria Shine and her husband, Walter of Merrimack, NH; and Nancy MacLean and her husband, William of Groveland, MA; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grand-children; and several nieces and nephews. Pauline was predeceased by her 15 siblings and their spouses, Wilfred and Cecil Corriveau, Beatrice and Levi Martin, Paul and Anna Corriveau, Cora and Nelson Gagnon, Walter and Rose Corriveau, Ida and Fred Fontaine, Winnie and Alphonse Millard, Jeanne Corriveau, Dora and Robert Lavoie, Joseph and Nellie Corriveau, George and Evelyn Corriveau, James and Kathleen Corriveau, Clarence and Bobbie Corriveau, and Patrick Corriveau and Lillian and Walter Abovitch.
Friends were invited to call from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday November 7 at the Arthur J. Scott Funeral Home, 298 South Broadway, Lawrence. A funeral service was held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial followed at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Andover. A private memorial mass will be held for Pauline at a later date.
