NEW SWEDEN: New Sweden School Christmas concert and St. Lucia celebration, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

PRESQUE ISLE: Free CareerCenter workshop “Job Search Tips for People With a Criminal History” at 9 a.m. at the center, 66 Spruce St.

Saturday, Dec. 12

CARIBOU: Open house at the Aroostook National Wildlife Refuge from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Bundle up to hike the trails, then gather at the visitors’ center to make a birdseed ornament for outdoor use.FMI: 328-4634.

CARIBOU: Wreaths Across America wreath-laying ceremony at the Maine Veterans Cemetery at 12 noon.

VAN BUREN: Chicken stew and ployes benefit dinner for Wayne Martin at the St. Bruno/St. Remi parish hall from 5-7 p.m. Proceeds will go toward his medical expenses for cancer treatments. Sponsored by K of C Council 1635. For information and tickets contact Dinah Parent at 868-5555.

Monday, Dec. 14

CARIBOU: Cary Medical Center and the American Red Cross will hold a blood drive from 12-6 p.m. at the Caribou Inn & Convention Center. T-shirts to first 100 donors. Walk-ins welcome, or call  Kristi Herron at 498-6516 to make an appointment.
