PRESQUE ISLE — The United Way of Aroostook has announced the addition of Jon Gulliver and Natasha Winslow to the board of directors.
“The board is made up of 18 dynamic, hardworking and generous business leaders who make it their mission to help fill the needs of others in Aroostook County,” said Executive Director Sherry Locke.

Gulliver is the director of investor and community relations at the Northern Maine Development Commission in Caribou. He is responsible for the public and media outreach for NMDC and the Aroostook Partnership, internal communications and web maintenance. He recently took on additional economic development responsibilities, including writing the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) and grant administration for Mobilize Northern Maine, an asset-based strategic planning initiative.
When asked his motivation for joining the Board, Gulliver said, “I am excited to lend my time and talent to the board. The United Way of Aroostook is a valuable asset for the region and makes a positive impact on the thousands of Aroostook County residents every year.”
Before joining NMDC in May 2012, Gulliver worked as a journalist, most notably as news director and 6 p.m. anchor for WAGM-TV in Presque Isle for nearly 20 years. He received his post-secondary education at the University of Maine and University of Maine at Presque Isle, majoring in journalism and English.
He resides in Presque Isle with his fiancée, Cindy, and several pets.
Winslow has worked at Smith and Wesson since 2005 and has had many roles in the company. She started out as an assembler/shooter and began taking online courses through the University of Maine at Presque Isle to complete a bachelor’s degree in business management. After completing her degree Winslow was able to fill an opening as an administrative assistant to the plant manager. In this role she became responsible for the United Way workplace campaign at Smith and Wesson and has continued to grow that campaign.
Winslow has continued her education and will be graduating with her MBA in human resource management in January through Southern New Hampshire University.

She and her husband, Leslie, live in Houlton and have six children who range in ages from 24 to 1-year-old twins. An Aroostook County native, she was born in Houlton and has lived there her entire life. She enjoys vacationing on the coast of Maine, camping with the kids and spending time outdoors.
Locke noted, “Volunteers and local donors are at the heart of our United Way. With support from our donors and volunteers, United Way of Aroostook has served as a lifeline for those County people who struggle every day for the basic needs of food and safe shelter, freedom from abuse and neglect, home care for the elderly and ill, and training for those with disability.”
