PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Members of the Presque Isle Kiwanis Club recently visited Maranda Donovan’s second-grade class at Pine Street Elementary School to observe the students using their new stability balls, which were purchased with help from a Kiwanis donation. The students sit on the large, flexible balls instead of chairs, and Donovan reported they have improved in one or more of the following: flexibility/range of motion, strength/stability, balance, posture, “squirminess” and ability to stay on task. Clockwise from top are Kiwanis Lt. Governor Sue Watson, Presque Isle Club President Penny McHatten, Sadie Tompkins, Evangeline Weatherbee and Aaden Dyer.
