The past few weeks have been very busy at The Ark and we are happy to announce that the outdoor cat pens are now open. Our kitties are loving the fresh air and sunshine and can hardly wait to get let out in the mornings.
When we arrive in the morning there is a line at each cat door and it is a race to see who is going to get out first. They can hear the birds singing and the water water running in the brook just a few feet away. It is truly a peaceful sanctuary for all of our furry friends. These cat pens allow them to be outside in safety. There is a roof over each cat pen so they can even go out when it is raining and believe me they do. At the end of the day they don’t want to come back in.
We have come so far since 2014 and none of it would be possible without your support and generosity, and for that we are forever thankful. One person had a dream and army of people helped to accomplish it.
It did not come without disappointment or setbacks, but those disappointments and setbacks made us stronger and wiser. We have learned so much and we will continue to learn and move forward. We encourage everyone to come up and visit the new sanctuary and meet the kitties that live there and maybe adopt one or two. Our hours may vary from day to day as we are still building our volunteer base. We suggest that you call before you come 532-4900.
A few weeks ago we took in a pregnant female on Saturday. By early Sunday morning she delivered five healthy babies. Mom and babies are all doing well. We also took in a little black and white kitten named Clara Bell. She is ready for adoption and is a very sweet little girl. Clara Bell rules the roost and loves running through the sanctuary at full speed.
We have so many wonderful kitties all looking for homes. All of adult cats have been altered fully vaccinated and tested, and have also been wormed and treated for fleas. They are all waiting for their “furever” homes.
