Cervone will address 2018 PIHS graduates

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Ben Greenlaw, Presque Isle High School principal, has announced that Edmund “Ed” Cervone, executive director of Educate Maine, will offer the keynote address at this year’s commencement.

The 2018 ceremony is set for Friday, June 8, at 7 p.m. in the Presque Isle High School gymnasium. Those wishing to attend must have tickets.

Cervone directs Educate Maine, a business-led organization dedicated to programs and policies that make it possible for Maine students to succeed in school, higher education and careers. He has been involved in Maine’s nonprofit sector for over a decade, working on issues that relate to education and economic development.

His other experiences include several roles at the Maine Development Foundation and the Maine Center for Economic Policy. A graduate of Princeton University, Cervone earned a master’s degree from the University of Maine.

Greenlaw said, “Mr. Cervone works daily to ensure that our students have a bright and prosperous future here in our state. He understands the opportunities available to young people in Maine and has numerous experiences to draw from. I look forward to Mr. Cervone’s message.”
