Little Cove Daycare opens in Danforth

DANFORTH, Maine — Parents will now have an officially-licensed daycare facility to bring their children following the grand opening of Little’s Cove Daycare.

According to Town Manager Ardis Brown, Little’s Cove Daycare is the first-privately owned and operated, licensed child care facility to grace Danforth and its owners are very excited.

Operated by Kelsey Daoust and Danielle Golding, both of Danforth, the new business has openings for both full and part-time child care.

Daoust and Golding have worked for approximately a year to establish the business and partnership, Brown said. Daoust is a mother of two with a background in child care and business and is currently employed with the town of Danforth as an administrative assistant.

“It has always been her dream to own a daycare, and with her love for children and her strong business sense, it is finally coming true,” Brown said.

Golding is a mother of two-teenaged children and is an Advanced EMT with 10 years EMS experience, currently employed with Passamaquoddy Indian Township Fire Rescue, and a volunteer Firefighter for the town of Danforth.

Brown said it was Golding’s “great pleasure to interact and aide in teaching Danforth and surrounding areas ‘littles’ as they truly make life so much brighter.”

Together the two have worked to create a 12-capacity facility. Little’s Cove has a lot to offer, including well balanced meals and snacks and a very “at home” atmosphere. Their daily schedule holds a full day of activity, including outdoor play, along with indoor activities and the beloved story time, with hundreds of books to choose from.

Little’s Cove will strive to teach and build knowledge of life skills, prepare children for school years by developing a routine, while promoting consistency and socialization, Brown stated. They offer services for children between the ages of 6 weeks to 12 years.

“Little’s Cove participates in the Quality for ME child care subsidy program, and currently has open enrollment,” Brown said. “They’re a small business creating jobs for and employing state required, highly trained staff. Their educated staff is helpful with required paperwork to make the enrollment process as smooth as possible.”

Joining the team is an experienced child care provider Regina Lee, a mother and grandmother who will be an on-site provider. For more information, check them out on Facebook at littlescovedanforth or email littlescovedaycare@gmail.com or call 207-448-2212.
