HODGDON, Maine — Each year, Aroostook the Right to Read program sponsors Read Across Aroostook, inviting students all across Aroostook County to stop, drop, and read at a designated time.
This year’s event took place at 1 p.m. on April 10 and students at Mill Pond School celebrated with a reading campout, coming in pajamas and pairing with other classes to enjoy great books by a “campfire.”
Read Across Aroostook was a weeklong event at Mill Pond School. Students participated in a celebration of words with various themed days such as wearable words, guess my letter, and Hawks day. Students celebrated literature by combining books and STEAM activities presented by teachers each day of the week.
