Photographer Paul Cyr, left, presents Sue Bernard of Northern Maine Community College with his photo of the vintage C-47 aircraft which conducted a fly-in on May 19 as part of the 75th anniversary of D-Day. During WWII, these cargo planes flew in and out of the Presque Isle Army Air Force Base carrying troops and equipment and delivered wounded to the base hospital, now home of NMCC. The photo, depicting several planes at the airport and one just landing with NMCC in the background, will be displayed at the College’s Gallery of Aviation History at the Akeley Student Center.
