CARIBOU, Maine — A young Caribou resident recently turned her birthday into an opportunity to help out The County’s newest arrivals.
Eight-year-old Isabella Albert recently celebrated her birthday, and in lieu of gifts for herself, asked her friends and family to consider bringing a pack of diapers so she could then donate them.
Albert had set a goal of donating 1,000 diapers. When she found out she was short of her goal, she used money she had received for her birthday to purchase the additional diapers to fulfill her goal.
While purchasing the last of her diapers, a friendly stranger, who was inspired by her generosity and thoughtfulness, donated to the cause. Albert donated a total of 1,084 diapers to the Pines team.
Women’s and Children’s staff members praised “this very kind and selfless young lady” for her generous donation, and shared a message for her: “You are amazing, Bella. Thank you so much for not only helping families of our littlest patients but for also spreading kindness.”
