AUGUSTA, Maine — Sen. Mike Carpenter, D-Houlton, earned a perfect attendance and voting record during the recently concluded legislative session. He is one of 21 Senate Democrats to receive a perfect attendance score for the first session of the 129th Legislature.
“Fighting for the people of Aroostook County requires loyalty, commitment and hard work, which I take very seriously,” said Sen. Carpenter. “Whether down at the State House or in the County, I am there to do the work.”
During the First Regular Session of the 129th Maine Legislature, Sen. Carpenter cast a total of 310 votes — 100 percent of the votes recorded, excluding absences excused by the Senate President for illness or other extenuating circumstances.
This year, lawmakers cast critical votes to hold “Big Pharma” accountable and lower the cost of prescription drugs and provide $130 million in property tax relief.
Sen. Carpenter also had a perfect attendance record in the previous legislative session. The 129th Legislature adjourned June 20 and is set to reconvene in January 2020.
