CARIBOU and HOULTON, Maine — Halfway Home Pet Rescue in Caribou has partnered with the Houlton Humane Society shelter for a cat spay and neuter clinic on Saturday, May 30, and Sunday, May 31, in Houlton.
The clinic, to be held at the Houlton shelter, will provide spay or neuter surgery and rabies vaccinations, as well as ear cleaning and nail trimming.
An HHPR grant covers families from Van Buren to Bridgewater and is free to the public. A Houlton Humane Society grant covers families from Blaine south to the Houlton area and includes a $25 co-pay.
Treatment for ear mites and parasites may be charged to the owner.
Space is limited to the first 60 cats with reservations. The clinic is open to all Aroostook County people with cats in need of sterilization.
For reservations, call C.J. Virgie at the Houlton shelter, 532-2862, or 592-8212.
