CARIBOU, Maine — The Fort Kent girls soccer team swept into Caribou Tuesday, Sept. 7, and unleashed a scoring barrage against the home Vikings in what was the first game of the season for both squads.
Fort Kent cruised to a 10-1 victory, despite a much shorter bench. The Warriors commanded the ball, testing Caribou’s defense and goalie constantly, and playing an athletic game of keep-away. From the stands, a large visiting crowd of students and parents cheered the Fort Kent girls on.
Scoring was led by Fort Kent’s Hannah Lovely with three and Morgan Cyr with two. For the Warriors, Julia Cyr, Darci Pelletier, Elly Sirois and Allee Morgan each scored one.
On the home side, Gabbie Sutherland scored Caribou’s only goal.
