CARIBOU, Maine — Versant Power is investigating an outage that left more than 6,000 customers in the Presque Isle and Caribou area without power for a half hour Friday morning.
Power first went out at 9:23 a.m., and Versant had restored electricity to most customers by 9:54 a.m., spokesperson Marissa Minor said.
Caribou High School experienced a significantly longer outage of nearly two hours, and dismissed its students at 10:30 a.m.
Crews are still working on the lines to determine the cause of the outage, which affected 6,035 meters in Aroostook County.
