After catching the longest trout of the day at 13.2 inches, 7-year-old Benjamin Shackette, center, won the “Hooked on Fishing, Not Drugs” YouthFishing Derby, held June 3 at Mantle Lake Park in Presque Isle.
Shackette’s prize was a certificate for a lifetime fishing license. With him are Mark Allen of the Presque Isle Fish and Game Club (left), which donated the prize, and Alan Harding, chairman of the Presque Isle Elks Drug Awareness Committee, hosts of the derby.
