PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – The Maine State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management, Best Companies Group, and BridgeTower Media have named The County Federal Credit Union as one of the top 20 Best Places to Work in Maine for 2023.
“We’re honored to be recognized on this list of so many accomplished employee-friendly Maine businesses,” said Dan Bagley, executive vice president. “Our team’s dedication to treating each other with respect, and providing candid and supportive mentorship within each department, pays off as a great working experience. As a financial services cooperative with its main office located in Aroostook County, the opportunity and ability for our employees to advance and develop their career path is always available, especially for staff who take the opportunity to engage in their own development. Receiving this recognition as one of the top 20 best places to work in Maine, demonstrates to me that our team’s efforts are taking our company and our staff in the right direction.”
Best Places to Work in Maine identifies, recognizes, and honors the best places of employment in Maine. To be considered, companies must have at least 15 full-time or part-time employees working in Maine; be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or government entity; be a publicly or privately held business; have a facility in the state of Maine; and be in business a minimum of one year.
Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process, analyzed the data, and used their expertise to determine the final rankings.
There were two parts used to determine the rankings. The first consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, and demographics, worth approximately 25 percent of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience, which consisted of 75 percent of the total. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final rankings.
“This year’s Best Places to Work in Maine know the importance of communication, onboarding, feedback loops, flexibility, and diversity and inclusion in a successful work environment. They make sure their staffers feel appreciated, engaged, and successful,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, managing director of BridgeTower Media for the East Division. “Along with our partners, the Maine State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management and the Best Companies Group, we are honored to recognize the accomplishments of these outstanding businesses.”
The winners were honored on October 11 at a celebration at the Augusta Civic Center.
