3-day Outlook: Wednesday, Nov. 8-Friday, Nov. 10
Low pressure that brought yesterday’s snow and rain is over the Gulf of St. Lawrence this morning and will slowly drift east today. A steep pressure gradient between the low and high pressure building in from the west will produce a blustery northwest wind across the Saint John Valley today with northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts 45 to 50 mph expected.
The National Weather Service has issues a wind advisory in effect until 5 pm this evening. Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and powerlines. Isolated to scattered power outages may result. The wind will remain elevated into the overnight period before subsiding after midnight as the low moves away.
Partly cloudy skies tonight give way to cloudy skies Thursday as an broad occluding area of low pressure approaches and pulls the occlusion across the region with the triple point low moving across the Gulf of Maine, but weakening as it moves towards high pressure to the northeast.
Snow will develop Thursday afternoon and will be likely Thursday evening before tapering to snow showers after midnight. Mostly cloudy skies overspread the region Friday with wrap-around with a few snow showers, possibly mixing with rain showers in the afternoon. Snow showers are expected to linger Friday night as a cold front drops across the SJV from the northwest.

High pressure builds in from the Great Lakes Saturday into Sunday then settles over the East Coast through midweek next week. Partly cloudy to partly sunny skies and cool conditions are expected for the period.
