FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine — The Fort Fairfield Public Library is delighted to announce a generous donation from the late Beth K. Pfeiffer. Pfeiffer was the wife of Fort Fairfield resident John Foster. Pfeiffer was known for her unwavering support of libraries and their vital role in communities. She has bequeathed funds to establish a children’s garden to be constructed next to the Blockhouse on Main Street in Fort Fairfield.
An advocate for education and community enrichment, Pfeiffer recognized the importance of providing children with enriching experiences that foster learning and growth. In line with her vision, the donation will fund the creation of a children’s garden where young minds can engage in hands-on learning through the planting and nurturing of vegetables.
The children’s garden project aligns with the Fort Fairfield Public Library’s mission to inspire a love of learning and exploration among children of all ages. Through this initiative, the library aims to cultivate not only a space for gardening but also a sense of curiosity and stewardship for the environment.
The library will work closely with local educators, volunteers and gardening enthusiasts to develop programming and activities that complement the children’s garden, offering opportunities for hands-on learning and community engagement.
